Our Wines


TANBÉ ROSSO

The magic of quality: bringing old local grape varieties back to light. The scent of cooked fruit, spices and smoothness on the palate is created by combining Corvina with other old indigenous varieties, in a wine made from long-ripened grapes. A special bouquet: soft, full and robust.

GRAPES:
Corvina, Merlot and other old local varieties.

AREA OF PRODUCTION:
The hill country of Illasi and Colognola ai Colli: calcareous marine rocks and alluvial zone.

TRAINING SYSTEM:
Pergola Veronese, 3500 vines per hectare, Guyot 5000 vines per hectare.

YIELD PER HECTARE:
Around 9000 kg of grapes (6000 litres).

HARVESTING PERIOD:
From the beginning of September to mid-October, all varieties after slight over-ripening.

WINEMAKING:
Crushing and destemming of grapes allowed to over-ripen for one month or thereabouts. Controlled fermentation temperatures between 22 and 30 °C; duration of fermentation and maceration: 15 days. First racking and clarification racking, then aging in oak barrels of 3000 litres capacity for over a year, where malolactic fermentation occurs, a brief period in steel tanks, and further aging in the bottle.

RECOMMENDED ACCOMPANIMENTS
Tanbé Rosso is the ideal accompaniment for red meat, wildfowl and game dishes, whether roast, marinated, cooked in sauces or grilled. Perfect with hard cheeses, not too strongly flavoured. Serve preferably in large crystal glasses at room temperature.
